New Year’s Resolution

We are coming to the end of the year and going to start a new in 2025. I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions and definitely not one to stick to many goals. This coming year I hope to change that.

I love cookbooks and have so many and love to spend hours looking through every detail. The thing is I rarely actually make the recipes. So this coming year I am making it my resolution to actually make recipes from my cookbooks. I was given a Pioneer Woman cookbook for Christmas this year and there are so many recipes I would like to give a try.

I am hoping to add even more variety to my families list of meals that we not only love to eat but, that I love to cook. Growing up my family was very stuck in their ways and we ate the same meals over and over. It was very rare that a new recipe was introduced and very rare that a new recipe would join our cycle of meals. I am very grateful to have a husband that lives to eat and is very adventurous about trying new things. Being with him has helped me to be open to trying new things. I grew up in a home where the only spices we ever used were salt and pepper. It took me through like a whirlwind when he got me to start cooking with garlic. Now it’s a staple in our own home.

I hope this inspires you to make new years resolutions and maybe also to pull out or buy a cookbook and learn to cook something new and different.

Come visit me again in January when I begin my journey of cooking new recipes from The Pioneer Woman!
