Growing up I watched many different movies. Friday was always a movie night with pizza for dinner. Of all the different movies I remember watching as a kid the ones that always stood out were the Disney ones.
Now as a mother I am so excited to pass down the Disney movie magic to my two boys. Lately I have had a goal of once a week showing my kids a new, well new to them, Disney movie. Do we always get all the way through without complaints or needing to turn it off and try again another day? No. My oldest is one two and a half. His attention span still has some growing to do. But, every now and then we find a new Disney movie that does hold his attention. Days like that make for enjoyable nights while my husband is at work.
There are many things, as parents, that we want to share and hand down to our kids. One of the sweetest things we can hand down to them is a piece of our own childhood. This could be your favorite childhood food, activity or sport, books. I am so glad that I can pass down my love for Disney movies, much like my own mother did for me.
Why let go of these things you loved in your childhood? Sure somethings you just outgrow but, things like your favorite movies can definitely be handed down and shared. So, let’s try to remember the magic!
