Have you ever had surgery? What for?
You ask if I have ever had surgery. Well, I have definitely had surgeries. Starting at nine years old to being twenty eight, I have had 5 surgeries.
My first surgery was at age nine. I had to have my tonsils removed, which is a pretty common surgery for younger kids like I was. Ever since getting them out the amount of times I get sick during the year has gone down drastically.
My second surgery was at age eleven. This time was to remove my appendix. That day I had been feeling sick and my mom actually thought I was faking to get out of shoveling snow. This led to me getting rush to the hospital later that night and having to get surgery the next morning. This was the first of four belly area surgeries.
My third surgery was at age nineteen. I was away at college and I kept having discomfort in my back towards my kidneys. Once I was home for Christmas break the discomfort kept getting worse and after rushing to the hospital twice I was told I needed to get my gallbladder removed. Nineteen is pretty young to get your gallbladder removed.
My last two surgeries were at age 26 and 28. The reason I am lumping them together is because it was the same surgery, just twice. I had two C-sections. Both of my sons were both this way. But their stories are different. With my first I went into the hospital in labor but after well over twenty four hours of labor, I was rushed to an emergency C-section due to my son’s heart rate dropping. My second C-section was much more relaxed. I had a scheduled C-section. I knew exactly when I would go to the hospital and I didn’t start to get nervous about it until that morning. Instead of being wheeled off to surgery I walked right in. I wasn’t tired from being in labor and being awake almost forty eight hours. I would definitely scheduled C-section to any second time mom.
After all these surgeries I hope not to have to get another one for a long time.
