My toddler is now two and a half. There are so many things he is able to do now and he is just getting smarter and smarter. Every day he is learning and picking up new words to say. Sometimes I am surprised how many words he has learned.
Today we went to the grocery store and so many things we passed he was able to point and say what they were. Strawberry, chips, milk! All through the store naming everything he saw.
Next we went to a department store and he pointed every mannequin that was wearing shoes in the men’s department. The whole time he was pointing and naming he was so happy with himself. He is so proud of himself and so willing to learn.
Teaching our kids all these new things can seem like a lot but if we talk to them like normal people from the very beginning and just introduce them to there surroundings, explaining what things are they can learn so many new words. My toddler loves story time and as I read him his favorite stories I notice him speaking the story along with me. While he pronunciation does need some work I’m very proud of my toddler and how far he has come.
