Parental Words of Wisdom

    – Take it one day at a time. Each day with your kids will be different so just take it one step, one day at a time.

   – It’s ok to walk away from your kids. If you need a minute to calm down and collect yourself, make sure they are in a safe spot like a crib and walk away to get a minute for yourself

   – Apologize to your kids. Just as we expected our kids to admit when they have done wrong and apologize, we need to be examples of that behavior.

   – While we do need to be strong parents and guide our kids it’s also ok to get down on their level and join them in their play world. Go back to your childhood self, play pretend, act silly. Your kids will love it.

   – BREATHE. Simple as that breathe. Taking a deep breath and letting it go can make such a difference.

   – Try no to dread the newborn nights. Those nights where you seem to get zero sleep and all your baby want is you, don’t dread them. They are hard but, later when they are sleeping through the night on there own you will miss the 2am cuddles, singing to your babies, just praying they will go to sleep.

  – Don’t be afraid to go out with your babies. Don’t let the fear of going out with kids keep you couped up in you home. The great thing about babies is how portable they are. So go. Take a walk. Go to the store. See a friend. Just go.
