Unplanned Zoo Trip

This year for my husband’s birthday we decided to get him an experience gift instead of some items off a shelve in a store. We invested in a family pass for a nearby zoo. With his birthday coming up on Friday I went ahead and bought the membership yesterday so we would be ready to go on Friday. Then, this morning I was looking at the weather forecast for the week and of course the only day with bad weather was going to be Friday. I looked to see what other days this week would have the best weather for our trip. It came down to today or tomorrow. After talking it over with my husband we decided to leave an hour later for the zoo with our two boys.

After getting everyone dressed and the diaper bag packed for the day, we got in the car and left for our day at the zoo. With my boys both being toddlers now we knew this trip was going to come with a lot of fun and possibly some difficulty. While they enjoyed being out and seeing the animals, they also want to get out of the stroller and run a mile ahead of us. But, we still had a great time. We loved watching how differently the boys reacted to each of the different animals. Getting excited about bears, monkeys and tigers but, not caring for red pandas, birds and fish.  Even just sitting down at lunch to eat our chicken tender and fries was fun. Sometimes even if you are eating things you can have at home it can be fun just in a different or new place. Instead of being in the high chair they were in the stroller eating off there trays.  We made our way around the zoo and saw just about every animal they had to offer. Once it was time to leave we loaded up into the car to head home. We had barely left the parking lot before both little boys were fast asleep in the backseat, so tired from a day exploring the zoo.
