Relationship Advice pt1

           – Your spouse should be your best friend. If you can’t see them as a best friend, someone you want to spend everyday with and have fun with and go through life together, you marriage is going to be rough.

            – Your spouse should be your best friend but, there needs to be a balance between best friend and lover. If you go to into the best friend side you start to lose that spark but, if it’s the right person, that spark should be about to come back.

             – If you are with the right person marriage shouldn’t be hard, now I’m not saying it’s easy just not hard. The two right for each other people will be able to work through things rationally and with respect.

             – Keep your marriage part of life separate from the other parts of life. When you bring those other parts, like financials, into your marriage that’s when it gets hard and big fights start. Your marriage should be just about your relationship. Life is the big picture. Marriage, financials, etc. are just parts of life .

            – Learn how to fight. Learn how to fight correctly. Know it’s ok to pause a fight and take a breather before things get to heated. The worst thing you can do during a fight with your spouse is let it get to heated and say something you don’t truly mean that was said in anger just to cause hurt.

-Do Not go into marriage thinking your life is going to be all sunshine and rainbows and everything is going to be perfect. It’s not. We are human and crap happens. So, are you going to work together as a team to fix the problem or are you going to just fight and turn one problem into multiple problems?

            – Serve each other and show that you care. This can be actual serving and bringing your spouse there morning coffee or just taking out the trash without having to be nagged.

           – laugh together. Being able to laugh with your spouse no matter what it was about can be so therapeutic to a marriage.
